1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to the EDU, Inc. Common Black College Application (“CBCA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of:
- Common Black College Application platform
- All related websites, including www.
commonblackcollegeapp.com - Mobile applications, dashboards, and tools
- Related services including the Common Scholarship Application (CSA) and CollegeBoundAI
(collectively, the “Site”)
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.
2. Eligibility & Use by Minors
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site independently.
If you are under 18:
- You may only use the Site with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian
- The parent/guardian agrees to be responsible for your use
By using the Site, you represent that:
- All information you provide is accurate
- You have the legal authority to enter into this agreement
3. Nature of Services (Important Disclaimer)
CBCA is a facilitator platform, not an admissions authority.
We:
- Provide tools to submit applications to participating colleges and universities
- Transmit student-provided data to institutions
We DO NOT:
- Make admissions decisions
- Guarantee acceptance, scholarships, or financial aid
- Control how institutions evaluate applications
Each college or university operates independently and determines its own:
- Admissions criteria
- Processing timelines
- Scholarship decisions
4. Data Handling & Student Information
CBCA enables users to submit personal and academic information, including transcripts.
By using the Site, you acknowledge:
- You authorize CBCA to transmit your information to selected institutions
- Once transmitted, institutions control how your data is used
- CBCA is not responsible for how third parties use your information
CBCA operates as a data facilitator, not a custodian of institutional decision-making.
Users are responsible for ensuring submitted data is:
- Accurate
- Complete
- Truthful
Providing false or misleading information may result in:
- Account termination
- Notification to institutions
5. Registration & Account Security
To access certain features, you must create an account.
You agree to:
- Maintain accurate information
- Keep login credentials secure
- Notify us immediately of unauthorized use
You are fully responsible for all activity under your account.
We reserve the right to:
- Suspend or terminate accounts
- Refuse usernames
- Investigate suspicious or abusive activity
6. Fees, Payments, and Refunds

8. Communications & Email Consent

- CBCA is not responsible for communications sent by third-party institutions or partners

CBCA:

the total amount paid by you to use the Site
15. Dispute Resolution (Arbitration)
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration, not in court.
You agree:
- To waive the right to a jury trial
- To waive participation in class action lawsuits
Arbitration shall take place in Fulton County, Georgia.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.
All legal matters shall be handled in:
- State or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia
17. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time.
Changes become effective upon posting.
Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance.
